The philosophy of Rhythms at Sea Cruises is quite simple: In this age of computer technology, we will never lose the “personal touch” that has been the cornerstone of our success. We realize that the vast majority of participants have never cruised previously. Our passengers will never be directed to an on-line registration form until each and every question is answered. We will not compromise these values.


Lynn and Les Berger have been in the travel and cruise business for more than 20 years. Seven years ago their son, David, a pediatrician with ties to the jam-band community, came back from a music festival and announced that his favorite band wanted to explore the possibility of inviting their fans to go on a Caribbean cruise……. and the band would entertain them all week. The rest is history !!

After speaking to many people in the cruise industry, Lynn and Les discovered that no one had ever brought a "jam band" and their fans on a cruise ship. Would it work? How would fans adjust to first-class accommodations? How would they mix with the "regular" passengers? Would the fans enable the band members to enjoy the cruise with their families? Who would ever have expected it to be such a perfect fit!

It was an incredible success for the band as well as their fans. Everyone from the Captain of the Norwegian Sun down to his crew and staff made the band and their fans feel comfortable. Watching the Senior Officers enjoying the music at the pool deck party was priceless. At a recent VIP cocktail party, the Captain asked Lynn and Les to "bring us more of your wonderful groups".

Rhythms at Sea Cruises is located in Hollywood , Florida . Because of its proximity to the South Florida cruise ports, visiting a ship requires only a phone call and some security checks. Staff members of Rhythms at Sea Cruises routinely bring band personnel to tour the ship prior to finalizing performance schedules. The working relationships that have evolved with the cruise companies and Rhythms at Sea Cruises sets them far and above what is typical in the cruise industry.


Knowing that a concept as innovative as this needed the backing of a nationally respected company, the Bergers formed Rhythms at Sea Cruises and became a franchisee of Cruise Planners.
